Top Destination
Vietnam

Vietnam is one of Southeast Asia’s most beautiful countries, attracting travellers to its lush mountains, bustling cities and golden sand beaches.

LANGUAGE

Many Vietnamese speak English and are eager to practice so initiate conversation. A wry sense of humour is common, and you’ll often find yourself in an exchange of amusing banter. They love to share a joke so don’t always take things too seriously!
Even if they don’t speak English most enjoy communicating in any way possible, whether that’s with hand gestures or drawings.
You’ll certainly have no problem communicating with the locals.

WEATHER IN VIETNAM
We are visiting four very different climates on our adventure. November is autumn and as the country approaches winter the weather begins to cool and humidity to drop.

Hanoi: Hanoi is mild during November with high temperatures in the mid-20º’s and lows in the high teens. There is little rain, but it can become cool when it does rain.

Ha Long Bay: With temperate air and lack of rain November is the perfect time to explore Ha Long Bay. Temperatures range from the low 20º’s to the high teens. This is the sunniest time of the year with little rain, and humidity levels are lower.

Hue: In Hue temperatures sit in the mid to high 20’s. Hue gets lots of rain and November is rainy season. But rain bursts are short and pass quickly and don’t occur every day.

Hoi An: Temperatures begin to cool a little in early November. They hover around the high 20ºC’s during the day and evenings are warm with temperatures in the low 20º’s. It is common to get bursts of rain in November.

DRESS
Vietnam dresses more conservatively than the western world. On the whole there are few restrictions on tourists but it is respectful to the Vietnamese people to dress with consideration. When visiting temples, pagodas, other places of worship or ‘sacred sites’ dress code is clear and strict – no shorts, sleeveless tops or short dresses.
It is expected you remove your shoes on entering a building. Slip-on footwear is easy to manage if you are moving in and out of many different places.

WHAT TO TAKE
You will receive a full list of what you need to have with you for the Event along with recommendations regarding clothing and equipment well before departure to give you plenty of time to get organised.

MEALS

The Vietnamese love their food and pour their heart into preparations that tantalise your taste buds. You can be sure all meals will be delicious.
